How we do it

We make divorce kinder, quicker, and easier.

Divorce is hard enough. When you choose to jointly retain a family lawyer you maintain control over the outcome, prioritize your shared interests and minimize conflict. We make things easier by simplifying the process, by making it affordable with one flat fee and by providing you both impartial legal advice that benefits you both.

How It Works

Our 7-Step Process

Your separation doesn’t have to be complicated. We’ve created a clear, 7-step process designed to give you clarity, confidence, and closure, without the unnecessary conflict.

1. Free Consultation & Intake

We complete our phone consultations individually but the rest of the process will be carried out jointly with your shared family lawyer.

2. File Opening & Disclosure Review

Together, we collect the important financial and personal information needed. This ensures full transparency and helps us build a clear picture from the start.

3. Online Q+A

This is an informal online meeting with your shared lawyer to confirm the details of your disclosure and identify the areas where you will need guidance.

4. Custom Legal Opinion

Following your Q+A, your lawyer will create a custom legal opinion for you both outlining some pathways forward towards resolution.

5. Settlement Session

During the Settlement Session you will finalize the terms of your separation which we will then formalize into your separation agreement.

6. Confirmation Session

Following your review of the separation agreement you will meet with your lawyer to confirm it is representative of your shared interests.

7. Document Formalization & Signatures

You will meet with your lawyer individually to sign your documents, after which we will file.
